Comparison of Updated Map and Historical Map
Floodplain lines are presented for two flood return periods, 100-year flood and 200-year flood. The figures below show the whole floodplain for Chilliwack River area under 100-year flood and 200-year flood. The orange one represents 200-year flood, and the blue one represents 100-year flood. The edge of them represents the boundary line, which is the floodplain line.
I used the red lines to emphasis on the historic 200-year floodplain lines, and yellow lines show the new 200-year floodplain lines. (Tip: Regarding the road as the reference line.) The yellow line goes over the part of residential areas, Yellow circle area, which means that will be flooded under a 200-year flood.
